Run the Windows installer. Capto settles into the system tray, ready when you are.

Press Alt + Shift + 2 and drag across part of your screen. Quick Access offers what to do next.

Do I need administrator rights?

No. Capto installs per user, so you can set it up without an administrator account.

Why might Windows show a warning?

Microsoft SmartScreen can warn about a new installer before it has built up a download reputation. Capto’s signed update metadata is separate from that Windows code-signing reputation.

How do I update Capto?

Capto checks for updates by itself. To check right away, choose Update in the All-in-One bar or in Settings. The download starts when you ask, and the update installs on restart.

How do I uninstall it?

Open Windows Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps, and uninstall Capto. Files you saved, and anything uploaded to your own storage, stay yours.

Is there a macOS or Linux version?

Not at the moment. The current release is for 64-bit Windows 10 and 11.
